I went around trying to find real-life examples of walls and surfaces so that I could better understand how to replicate them.

For the brick wall, I created multiple white bricks out of air-dry clay and stuck them onto cardboard by using a mix of coffee

grains and PVA glue. For the fake ivy, I mixed plastic shavings with PVA glue and green paint to create this organic texture

and afterwards used a wooden stick to arrange them in a way that I would expect ivy to grow. The sand-coloured wall is just

wood dust/fine shavings stuck on with the PVA glue. While the base was still wet, I sprinkled extra coffee grains in the gaps

to act like loose soil.
